Experiential Activities

Nature Experience

A guided hike will be organised at the Giara di Tuili. Participants will explore religious syncretism (the nuraghi, stones with phallic symbols, Christian churches) at the Morisia Botanical Garden. They will also enjoy a photo safari, in search of the horses of the Giara, to capture with their cameras without disturbing the animals.

Production Experience

Participants will be guided to the centuries-old olive trees of Genuri, walking along the local path ‘Su Strintu de Cresia,’ with a brief visit to the Church of St. Domino. During the olive harvesting workshop they will have a hands-on experience of “beating” the centuries-old olive trees and gathering the olives.

Food Experience

Participants will be involved in the production of various traditional local products:

  • Preparation and baking of the typical breads of Tuili and Genuri;”Su pani arrubiu” and “Su Coccoi Pintau”. Preparation of nougat and “Sa Carapigna”, as well as cheese and Sardinian gnocchi, all according to time-honoured recipes and following traditional methods.
  • Participants will be treated to a typical meal prepared using everything they produced during their experiential activities, along with seasonal local produce, all under the guidance of experts in local cuisine.

Traditional Music Experience

Participants will delve into a music workshop dedicated to crafting the renowned “launeddas”, an ancient Sardinian woodwind instrument featuring multiple beating reeds. They will then have the opportunity to test the sound of the instrument they crafted.

Historical and Cultural Experience

Participants will begin the tour of the village of Tuili at Villa Asquer. The tour includes guided visits to the Museum of Sardinian Musical Instruments and the Olives and Olive Oil Museum.

We will immerse ourselves in 16th century Sardinia with a guided visit to the Gothic-Catholic church of St. Andrew the Apostle, where we will be able to admire the imposing retablo by the Master of Castelsardo.
