Plunge into the life of one of the island’s most authentic villages, meet the locals, take an active part in everyday activities, from handicrafts to food and wine, and contribute to creating that special atmosphere of warmth and sociability in the run-up to the Christmas festivities. Aritzo too is focusing on experiential tourism to promote its territory through the event ‘Sardinia Experiences, Ancient Wisdoms and Flavours’, which on 10 and 11 December will offer a rich calendar full of initiatives that will actively involve visitors, offering a holiday concept with a powerful personal impact.

The location of the event is undoubtedly one of the most appealing in mountain tourism, with breathtaking environments and landscapes surrounding the village at the foot of the Gennargentu, a favourite destination for hiking, trekking, rock climbing, canoeing and mountain biking enthusiasts. And then the village, at an altitude of 800 metres, nestled in a gentle valley covered with lush forests.

The purpose of the event, organised by Glearte with the support of the Tourism Department of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and the municipality of Aritzo, is to involve guests directly, actively and concretely bringing to life the ancient wisdoms and help them discover the charm of a mountain centre full of evocative historical and architectural traits, including, among the most prominent, the fascinating 17th-century Devilla house or the Arangino castle, built in 1917 with exposed stone, according to medieval models.

It is possible to book your participation for just one of the two days and take part in the many planned experiential activities.

All information on the event, on the individual initiatives, the places to visit and where to stay, can be found at sardiniaexperiences.org.
